The Diverse Leadership in Counselor Education and Supervision course provides students with theories, models, and skills of leadership, accreditation standards and program accreditation processes, including self-studies and program reports, and current sociopolitical and social justice issues and how those issues affect the counseling profession. Students will be introduced to models and competencies for advocating for clients at the individual, system, and policy levels and strategies of leadership in relation to diversity, equity, inclusion, and social justice issues. This course will provide three hours of ethics training ethical leadership and advocacy practices and strategies for conducting culturally relevant and culturally competent research.
