Internship/Field Experience

The internship programs at Immaculata have as their fundamental purpose the integration of learning with life. Students have the opportunity to apply what they have learned, to explore new places, to experience new people, and to broaden their perspective and personal goals. Through affiliation with an agency or a company, students encounter professional role models and observe the practical aspects of their career interests. Such experiences enable students to make more informed career choices at the completion of their college education.

Internships are arranged on an individual basis through the direction of the department/division chair, the faculty coordinator, and/or the Office of Career and Professional Development. Some programs carry academic credit while others are extracurricular academic experiences. For credit-bearing internships, students need departmental approval. Costs associated with such experiences are the student’s responsibility.
